The Ahar Cenotaphs are a group of cenotaphs located in Ahar, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. The site contains more than 250 cenotaphs of the Maharanas of Mewar that were built over approximately 350 years. There are 19 chhatris that commemorate the 19 maharajas who were cremated here.
To reach the Ahar Cenotaphs in Udaipur, you can take a taxi or an auto-rickshaw from the city center. It’s located approximately 3.5 kilometers east of Udaipur’s City Palace.
The Ahar Cenotaphs serve as historical monuments that beautifully illustrate the Mewar dynasty’s opulent history and cultural heritage. These cenotaphs, constructed between the 17th and 19th centuries, serve as the eternal resting place for Mewar rulers and esteemed members of the royal family.
